"If we find ourselves with a desire that nothing in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that we were made for another world."

about

Caeli Harman is a Wisconsin based illustrator and oil painter. After falling in love with art as a communicative tool for beauty and truth in high school, she made her way to Taylor University to study illustration. Now a senior, Caeli is looking forward to graduating with a BFA in Illustration in the spring of 2025.

For Caeli, art is the bridge of communication between the soul and outer world, and the light that illuminates more of them both. In much of her work, Caeli endeavors to understand more about human emotion, its origin, and what it communicates about the stories of our past and present. As such, much of her work is figurative and imaginative, inlaid with symbolism, saturated color and the balance between intention and "mistake".

Currently, Caeli is working on two passion projects: From Out of the Deep, Caeli's own illustrated testimony, and The Garden, a collection of oil paintings that explore the journey of girlhood and the reclaiming of identity as a daughter of Christ. Both of which are set to be shown at Caeli's senior show in the spring of 2025.

Caeli has shown work in her university's own Metcalf Galleria in 2022, 2023, and 2024, and in 2024 she was awarded Studio Artist of the Year. In 2023, Caeli also won 2nd place at Metcalf Open, Taylor's University annual competitive student art show, for her 3D piece, "Unraveling".
